Time for a Story

Story Time by Edward Bloor is a Humorous Mystery about how two kids are selected to go to a new school, but this school is no ordinary school.  Kids are force fed protein drinks and take tests every class to improve their scores.  Plus, there is a demon that is lurking around the school that is going on a killing spree.  The two kids George and Kate don’t even want to be there after a few days.  The author teaches reader they need to do thing they don’t really want to do for other people.

In the story the character really needs to do things for other people that they don’t really want to do.  For example at first George really wanted to go to the terrifying and Kate did not.  Kate ended up having to go because her house was now a part of the school district, she could have dropped out and went to her other school but she stayed to make George happy.  Not only do the characters in the book do it but also everyone in the world does it.  If my sister wanted me go on a carnival ride that I didn’t really want to go on I would ride it anyways.

Even though in real life we have to do it in another book called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins teaches reader the same thing.  When Katness’ sister got selected for the Hunger Games Katness volunteered to take her place.  She volunteered her life just so her sister wouldn’t get hurt.  Also in the story, George didn’t want to show his invention in the science fair but he did just because Kate wanted to see him knock off the reigning champ.

In addition, doing this act of kindness can help in a lot of ways.  First it helps the other person do whatever they were trying to do before you helped them.  Second, it helps you feel good that you did this.  Lastly, it helps the whole world because if everyone tried to do this the world would be a better place.  Everyone needs to try to help more people out.

Doing things for your friends, family, or unknown people is really good, the author teaches readers why. If everyone can do more things for other people the world will be a better place.
